Dan, this is such a great article. You’ve written about a common concern that people have when starting up something new. Having the “just do it” attitude as Leila mentioned, definitely helps overcome that initial hesitation and real customer feedback helps build confidence!

@Leila – yeah, just do it (once you know “why” you’re doing it) .. but the essence is get something out there, get some feedback, and adjust.

@Matt – 100% agree. There’s ways to leverage the human need to be “intrigued” by ambiguity – however, you still want your business idea being evaluated by real (potential) customers to ensure you deliver on a real need.

Remember and reflect on human nature…people love to gossip and tell
“secrets”. It makes them feel important to have information they think no
one else has. There is a huge buzz factor in strategically keeping things
aloof, or a “secret” and only teasing with bits of information. I think people get
tired of hearing the same hype. But they love to talk!
