Sniper Rifle Meditation – The Mindset To Accurately Hit Your Business Goals

Sniper Rifle Meditation – The Mindset To Accurately Hit Your Business Goals

Breathe in. Breathe out. Squeeze the trigger…

‘BAM’ — ‘ting’.

There are similarities in business and in firing a sniper rifle.

Hear me out.

Firearms are best handled without stress, without panic and from a place of mindfulness. You have to know what you’re doing and the effects of every action.

One tiny misalignment and you’re off by 1 or 2 degrees.

It doesn’t seem like much, but over the length of the target range, that can be the difference between a bullseye and a complete miss.

How is business any different?

If you race out onto the market stressed, highly strung and desperate to hit a bullseye, you’re going to miss.

Contracts. Investors. Deals. Sales.

Whooosh… You weren’t even close.

The more mindful, self-aware and at peace you are, the more accurately you can see your business goals and hit those targets.

But I wanted to physically embody this, to experience it.

So I went down to Escondido, just north of San Diego, to learn Sniper Rifle Meditation.

Yeah, literally meditating and firing guns.

I brought my video guys and we made a short  documentary about it.

Is this just crazy talk? You be the judge:

What an experience!

Accuracy is a thousand times better just by taking deep slow breaths and centering yourself.

Meditation really is life-changing. I’d encourage you to try it.

Check out the video and I’d love to hear from you in the comments:

  • What’s the worst stress you’ve faced in business before?
  • How did you overcome that stress?
  • Has your business improved by taking a relaxed, meditative approach?

Let me know.

interesting take – – loved a lot of what the instructor had to say.

i’ve been nomadic for the past 2 years and it’s afforded me the opportunity to live with a lot of different people and try out their hobbies + practices.

last year a friend i was living with who is into shooting took me out to the CA desert w/ a few of his shooting buddies….one of whom is one of the Navy’s top marksmen

between these 3 guys we had multiple different pistols, shotguns, and semi automatic rifles

it was my first time shooting ever + i am pretty anti-gun but it was a very interesting experience on several different levels (mentally, physically, energetically)

realized how much my body got caught up in fear and story…. especially when it came to shooting the assault rifle

required mental focus to re-center, calm my body, and be able to shoot the target

never related that experience to business though so an interesting frame to re-examine it through

Totally agree. Experienced this with martial arts training and defending against a razor sharp butcher knifes and machetes. You cannot defend yourself if you cannot get out of the fear and be totally in the present and allow your body to do what it was trained and made to do. There is absolutely no room for anything else.
