Most people believe leveling up is about doing more. More effort. More consistency. More discipline.
That belief keeps them stuck.
The real constraint is not work ethic. It is the internal code running underneath behavior. That code defines what feels normal, what feels risky, and what feels out of reach. Until that code changes, results self-correct back to familiar levels.
This is why people plateau even when they are doing everything right. They are trying to upgrade outputs without upgrading the operating system underneath.
If you want to level up in a real and lasting way, the work starts internally.
Key Takeaways
You cannot outperform the internal beliefs and identity driving your behavior.
Most people operate on outdated mental code shaped by fear and conditioning.
Plateaus exist because identity sets ceilings, not effort.
Awareness interrupts automatic patterns and creates leverage for change.
Feedback is the fastest mechanism for rewriting internal code.
Growth requires rewriting the code or repeating the same loop.

Your Internal Code Determines Your Ceiling
Every person runs an internal operating system made up of beliefs, expectations, and emotional defaults.
That system quietly sets limits on income, confidence, health, and ambition. When results approach those limits, behavior unconsciously adjusts to stay within them. Urgency drops. Focus drifts. Standards soften.
This is not laziness. It is self-regulation.
Until the code changes, effort only creates temporary spikes followed by regression.
You cannot outperform your code.
Dan Martell
Most People Are Running Outdated Code
The majority of internal programming is inherited, not chosen.
Fear of judgment. Fear of standing out. Fear of disappointing family. These inputs shape decisions long before logic gets involved.
Most people run outdated code written by fear and family.
This code may have once served a purpose, but it becomes a liability as ambitions grow. Trying to level up while running outdated code creates constant internal friction.
Identity Sets the Thermostat for Results
Results stabilize around what feels normal for who you believe you are.
This is why people oscillate. When things drop below the comfort zone, effort increases. When things rise above it, behavior unconsciously pulls back. The system seeks familiarity, not progress.
The ceiling is not set by skill. It is set by identity.
Until identity shifts, goals remain aspirational rather than inevitable.
Awareness Breaks Automation
Most behavior runs automatically. The same thoughts, reactions, and decisions repeat daily without conscious choice.
The moment a pattern becomes visible, it loses power.
Awareness creates a pause. That pause creates choice. Choice is where reprogramming begins.
Without awareness, repetition feels like fate. With awareness, it becomes editable.
The moment you can see the pattern, you stop being the pattern.
Dan Martell
Feedback Is the Mechanism for Rewriting Code
Internal systems cannot be updated in isolation.
Feedback provides the external signal needed to challenge blind spots and outdated assumptions. It functions like analytics in software, revealing where performance does not match intention.
Consistent feedback loops accelerate growth across:
Relationships
Execution
Communication
Personal standards
Avoiding feedback preserves comfort. Seeking feedback rewrites identity.
Rewrite or Repeat Is the Real Decision
Time alone does not create progress.
Without deliberate rewrites, the same year repeats under different circumstances. Experience accumulates, but growth stalls.
The choice is simple:
Rewrite the internal code and evolve
Repeat the same loop with new labels
There is no neutral path.
Questions Are the Programming Language of the Mind
The mind runs on questions.
The dominant question directs attention, shapes perception, and influences behavior. Unexamined questions produce unconscious patterns.
Intentional questions redirect focus and action.
Changing the primary question changes the operating system.
Better questions create better defaults without relying on willpower.
Conclusion
Leveling up is not about intensity. It is about alignment.
Until the internal code changes, effort will always be capped. The real work is upgrading the beliefs, identity, and standards that quietly govern behavior.
Rewrite the code, and growth becomes natural.
Refuse to rewrite it, and the loop repeats.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do people struggle to level up even when they work hard?
Because effort cannot override identity limits. Behavior always returns to what feels normal.
What does rewriting internal code actually mean?
It means changing the beliefs, standards, and questions that guide automatic behavior.
How does awareness help create change?
Awareness interrupts unconscious patterns and restores choice at the moment of action.
Why is feedback essential for growth?
Feedback exposes blind spots and provides data needed to challenge internal assumptions.
Can anyone rewrite their internal code?
Yes. Mental programming is learned, not fixed, and can be updated through awareness and practice.

How to Level Up SO Fast You Need to Reintroduce Yourself in 2026
https://www.youtube.com/watch/4WBt-ozzOaQ
00:00:00.000 But if you’re watching this and you feel
00:00:01.280 like you’re evolving, you’re expanding,
00:00:02.560 you’re growing, next year you should
00:00:03.919 reintroduce yourself to your friends.
00:00:05.759 You’re not going to be the same person.
00:00:07.359 That’s not how it works. So I want to
00:00:09.840 share three specific points on how to do
00:00:13.679 this that if even one of them you
00:00:17.279 implemented into your life, it would
00:00:19.039 change the whole trajectory. It would
00:00:20.800 like [music] skyrocket you. The first
00:00:23.119 one, the concept you need to understand
00:00:25.519 is you can’t outperform your code. There
00:00:28.720 is a ceiling that has been set for you
00:00:31.679 based on the mind, your code that’s
00:00:33.920 running right now. And I don’t care how
00:00:36.320 much you want it, how big your goals
00:00:38.480 are, how [ __ ] a I’m meant for more.
00:00:41.920 If you don’t learn what I’m going to
00:00:43.680 share with you, you will not outperform
00:00:45.520 your code. Most people run outdated code
00:00:48.320 written by fear and family. Write that
00:00:51.120 down. Most people are running code in
00:00:54.800 their mind that was written from fear,
00:00:58.640 false evidence appearing real or family
00:01:01.680 members. The fear of judgment, the fear
00:01:04.080 of being outcast, the fear of
00:01:06.400 disappointing the people we love. And
00:01:09.360 that’s just not a healthy first
00:01:12.000 principles approach to winning in life.
00:01:13.920 When I go back into my 20s, there was
00:01:16.320 this like period from pretty much 17
00:01:18.479 when I got out of rehab and I learned to
00:01:20.720 code and I started business and I
00:01:22.479 failed. First company, second company.
00:01:25.200 It wasn’t until I was 24 that I I got a
00:01:27.439 mentor, this coach named Bob, no
00:01:29.360 different than me for you. And Bob
00:01:32.000 taught me a different way of operating
00:01:34.799 the business side of things. And that’s
00:01:37.119 where I got really great at the concepts
00:01:40.960 of marketing and sales and delivery and
00:01:43.759 like nerdy business things. But the
00:01:46.159 problem was is that I was running from a
00:01:48.720 code that was trying to escape the not
00:01:52.079 enoughness.
00:01:53.759 I was operating programs on top of an
00:01:56.799 operating system that was not worthy.
00:02:00.799 Trying to prove other people wrong. A
00:02:03.040 very dark energy. What shifted for me
00:02:05.600 was understanding that if I installed
00:02:08.720 what I’m about to share with you a more
00:02:12.640 positive pull instead of a like an
00:02:15.760 anger, it was more of a an expansion,
00:02:18.080 what I call a light energy versus a dark
00:02:20.000 energy. Holy,
00:02:23.599 it was like a hundred times more
00:02:25.200 powerful. Everything in my life shifted
00:02:28.160 and zeros got added to my net worth and
00:02:30.400 relationships like got so much better.
00:02:32.720 the trust, the depth, the conversation,
00:02:34.959 finding my wife Renee, all of those
00:02:36.959 things came on the backside of what I’m
00:02:38.400 about to share with you. And I don’t
00:02:40.480 share those lightly. Like, it is this
00:02:42.480 powerful. When I look back at my first
00:02:44.640 company, Spheric, and even though my
00:02:47.040 mentor helped me go from two failed
00:02:48.879 companies back to back to doing almost a
00:02:50.720 million in revenue in the first 12
00:02:52.080 months, what nobody knows is I got stuck
00:02:55.519 at a million for almost another year. So
00:02:57.680 you got understand I went from zero to
00:02:59.599 960,000
00:03:01.120 and then stayed at like a million
00:03:03.040 million1. And it frustrated me cuz I’m
00:03:05.440 like well how did I learn how to do this
00:03:08.159 and grow and here I am. I don’t know if
00:03:10.720 you’ve ever felt like this but it’s like
00:03:12.480 I’m doing the work. I want to win. I’m
00:03:14.800 showing up and somehow I can’t the
00:03:19.200 ceiling’s there. And the reason why is I
00:03:22.159 can’t outperform my code. I had a belief
00:03:25.280 of what I was worth. I had a belief for
00:03:29.200 what was a lot. And my mind at that
00:03:31.840 point thought a million dollars was
00:03:33.840 wild, was a lot of money, was more than
00:03:36.720 I ever thought possible. And the problem
00:03:39.599 is is that we have these thermostats set
00:03:41.760 in our mind. And when they get low, we
00:03:45.360 heat them up, right? If our bank
00:03:47.200 accounts get too low, we work really
00:03:48.560 hard to fill them back up. If they get
00:03:51.120 too high, we slow down. And I didn’t
00:03:54.159 know that my old high was causing me to
00:03:57.599 not want to fight for more. Now, it’s
00:03:59.280 not like I didn’t want it until you
00:04:01.120 reprogram your mind and tell yourself,
00:04:04.000 and it’s kind of wild because you
00:04:05.200 actually like literally have to ask
00:04:06.319 yourself like, how would I act if it was
00:04:07.840 at a number that would make me change my
00:04:09.680 behaviors today? How do you make the old
00:04:11.680 high the new low? Do you see how that
00:04:13.599 reprogramming has to go? It’s got to
00:04:15.680 flip. You got to make the old high the
00:04:18.238 new low. You have to be like, "Okay,
00:04:20.639 when I get to 160 pounds, I decide to go
00:04:23.919 on a diet." And right now I’m at 150
00:04:27.919 pounds and I feel really good at myself
00:04:29.360 cuz I’m not 160. But at 150, you start
00:04:33.280 slacking off going to the gym. You start
00:04:35.040 making worse decisions about what you
00:04:36.960 eat. You don’t follow your meal prep.
00:04:38.320 You start having desserts. And then you
00:04:39.759 balloon back up to 160. And then you’re
00:04:41.360 at like 160 and you’re like, "Okay, I
00:04:42.960 got to got to get bit more consistent."
00:04:45.040 And then you go down to 150. And you
00:04:46.880 just oscillate.
00:04:48.960 See, you have to make it where you act
00:04:51.680 the way you would if you didn’t have it.
00:04:54.960 And that’s where you got to reprogram
00:04:56.479 the mind. You got to you got to
00:04:58.160 challenge yourself. It’s wild to see the
00:05:00.880 mind do this. Okay.
00:05:03.600 But that’s what happened. When I made
00:05:04.880 the old high, the new low, my revenue
00:05:06.720 skyrocketed. And then I’ve just learned
00:05:08.720 to reprogram that every level. So now
00:05:10.960 it’s not about the level I’m at. It’s
00:05:12.639 about the potential of the for me the
00:05:14.400 universe. Like when you want to talk
00:05:15.520 about mindset, like I look I’m here in
00:05:16.960 Dubai. I look at like potential
00:05:20.800 not my path potential of all of it.
00:05:24.320 That’s number one. Number two, this is
00:05:26.400 going to be a challenge for you to hear,
00:05:28.720 but awareness breaks automation.
00:05:33.120 See, most people, they call them NPCs,
00:05:36.479 okay? Non-player characters. Most people
00:05:39.759 go through the world and don’t even see
00:05:42.400 the pattern that they’re running.
00:05:44.720 They’re acting like ants. They just do
00:05:47.039 and do and they think they have
00:05:48.240 autonomy. They think that they’re being
00:05:50.639 creative. They think, but the truth is
00:05:52.080 is 98% of their thoughts and actions are
00:05:54.080 the same day over day. See, the moment
00:05:56.320 you can see your pattern, you stop being
00:05:59.440 the pattern. Write that down. The moment
00:06:03.680 you can see the pattern, you stop being
00:06:06.240 the pattern.
00:06:07.919 And if you’re not aware of where you’re
00:06:10.880 just settled into this automation of not
00:06:14.560 asking for more, expecting more,
00:06:16.880 desiring more, you’re just like kind of
00:06:18.560 settled in. That’s that’s the challenge,
00:06:21.120 right? So, one of my core rules I’m
00:06:24.560 going to invite you to consider is
00:06:26.720 always ask for feedback. Feedback.
00:06:28.160 Feedback. Feedback. Feedback is your
00:06:29.680 fuel. Write that down. Feedback is your
00:06:31.280 fuel. The way we reprogram our mind is
00:06:33.680 through getting feedback from other
00:06:35.039 people. That’s a feedback loop. That’s
00:06:37.199 like analytics in software. The
00:06:39.039 analytics tells us where the software
00:06:40.639 isn’t performing as good or where users
00:06:42.080 aren’t using it right. That feedback is
00:06:44.000 how we make the product better. We
00:06:45.759 rewrite the code. Okay? I do this in
00:06:49.120 every aspect of my life at my family
00:06:51.199 life, every week with my wife Renee. How
00:06:53.520 have I been showing up for you as a
00:06:54.720 husband? Every week with my kids. I’ve
00:06:57.120 never been a dad of boys your age. I
00:07:00.000 don’t know what I’m doing. I could
00:07:01.280 really use some feedback on how I can be
00:07:02.800 better with my team. Hey, we just shot
00:07:05.759 that YouTube video. What do you got for
00:07:07.520 me for feedback? What do you think
00:07:08.960 worked? What do you think are
00:07:09.840 opportunities to improve? I need that.
00:07:12.479 It’s my oxygen. That’s how I rewrite the
00:07:15.120 code. See, if I don’t have that, then I
00:07:18.080 can’t get better. Even yesterday, I was
00:07:19.599 on this couch shooting a pod with Renee,
00:07:21.840 her pod. He said, she said on Into the
00:07:24.240 Wild. After we were done right over
00:07:27.039 there, I said, "Hey babes, awesome
00:07:29.199 podcast. Really appreciate it. I’m just
00:07:31.520 curious. Do you have any feedback for
00:07:33.039 me?" She gave me the feedback. Now,
00:07:35.440 here’s the cool part, just as like an
00:07:37.039 aside.
00:07:38.560 When you ask somebody for feedback, you
00:07:40.160 know, it’s a natural tendency for them
00:07:41.599 to do after is for them to ask you for
00:07:44.080 feedback. So, if you ever feel inclined
00:07:47.199 to want to tell somebody something where
00:07:48.800 they can get better, start by asking
00:07:50.720 them what you can do to get better. And
00:07:53.199 if they’re socially aware, they’ll
00:07:55.280 probably ask, like my wife did
00:07:56.560 yesterday. And then that’s just an
00:07:58.319 easier way to have that conversation.
00:08:00.160 But for me, the feedback is how I create
00:08:03.440 the awareness of removing the automation
00:08:07.360 so that I can improve the activity, the
00:08:10.160 actions. Okay? See how that works?
00:08:12.800 Another thing I do, if you read my book,
00:08:14.879 the last chapter is a bonus chapter,
00:08:16.960 seven pillars. I have these seven
00:08:18.240 pillars every Friday. I rate myself,
00:08:19.919 okay, out of 10. And I take two of the
00:08:22.160 lowest scores of those seven pillars and
00:08:25.199 I make a commitment to action to
00:08:27.759 reprogram my mind, my behavior, my
00:08:30.000 calendar on the two lowest scores so
00:08:32.479 that the following week they’ll at least
00:08:34.479 not be the lowest score. See how that
00:08:37.440 creates a rhythm of rewriting the code?
00:08:42.080 You guys can go read that chapter. It’s
00:08:43.519 in my book. It’s a bonus chapter. Final
00:08:46.240 thing I want to share with you really
00:08:48.160 important because I need you to learn
00:08:50.320 how to do this is rewrite or repeat.
00:08:52.880 Rewrite or repeat. Rewrite or repeat.
00:08:55.680 It’s your choice. If you execute the
00:08:58.480 same loop even over different decades,
00:09:02.160 it’ll be the same unless you change the
00:09:04.800 code. If who you were today was who you
00:09:07.920 needed to become, then you’d already
00:09:09.920 have what you want. The whole idea of
00:09:13.120 asking yourself what is that future
00:09:15.519 desired reality I want to live in and
00:09:18.240 how would that person at that stage act
00:09:21.440 today
00:09:22.959 and then try to emulate the kind of
00:09:25.760 person that would live in that world
00:09:28.000 today. That is the go-to move.
00:09:31.680 You know, a long time ago, one of my
00:09:33.200 mentors taught me that everybody, you,
00:09:36.080 me, everybody you see, even the NPCs,
00:09:39.600 the non-player characters, they’re all
00:09:41.680 running a primary question. They’re
00:09:43.920 answering a question always that kind of
00:09:46.160 guides their day, right? And that
00:09:49.279 question is what drives the values, the
00:09:52.480 beliefs, the actions. And if you can
00:09:55.040 rewrite that question for you, that
00:09:57.440 primary question, you can shift the code
00:10:02.800 that is executing on the operating
00:10:04.880 system which is your mind to get what
00:10:07.440 you want to achieve. My question that I
00:10:10.640 rewrote that I’ve shared dozens of times
00:10:14.079 is how can I appreciate even more God’s
00:10:16.959 grace and guidance in this moment
00:10:20.560 here in Dubai with you?
00:10:23.440 Just you and I. Me writing down things
00:10:26.640 that were on my heart. Sharing from a
00:10:28.800 place of contribution and service and
00:10:30.959 being of help.
00:10:33.200 No distractions, no nothing else.
00:10:36.800 Just knowing that you’re listening and
00:10:38.560 you’re watching and you’re leaning in
00:10:42.320 and you’re trusting me to serve you in a
00:10:46.240 way that’ll inspire and push and be an
00:10:49.200 example for you to do things that are
00:10:50.720 way outside your comfort zone.
00:10:53.360 When I ask myself that question, no
00:10:55.040 matter what’s going on in my life, how
00:10:56.800 can I appreciate even more God’s grace
00:10:58.160 and guidance in this moment? For me,
00:11:00.800 that always aligns me to my highest
00:11:02.399 self, to my best self, [music] to my
00:11:04.240 best code, to the best operating system.
00:11:08.560 It is the most powerful thing. Every
00:11:11.600 person is walking around like an
00:11:13.920 optimization routine. They’re like
00:11:15.440 optimizing for certain things. That
00:11:17.279 thing is their question. If you don’t
00:11:19.760 know what your question is, if you don’t
00:11:21.279 write it down, if you don’t ask
00:11:22.560 yourself, then you’re just always
00:11:23.839 getting derailed. It’s a massive idea.
00:11:27.600 We have to rewrite our underperforming
00:11:30.320 code. We have to be aware of where we’re
00:11:32.640 just in an automated loop so we can
00:11:34.480 break out of it and we have to rewrite
00:11:37.519 it or we’ll just repeat it. That life,
00:11:41.360 you know, a lot of people live 25 years
00:11:43.360 experience, but they’re just reiving
00:11:45.360 that same year 25 times. They don’t have
00:11:47.600 25 years of experience.
00:11:50.800 This is what I want you to know. You can
00:11:54.320 can all caps bolded highlighted. You can
00:11:58.800 rewrite reprogram your mind.
00:12:02.640 I don’t know who convinced you that your
00:12:05.279 IQ is fixed, your character is fixed.
00:12:08.079 I’m an introvert. No, you’re not. I have
00:12:10.240 ADHD. Maybe you don’t. Maybe you can
00:12:12.480 reprogram it. Maybe you can get free of
00:12:15.120 it. Maybe you can break the cycle. Maybe
00:12:17.519 you are the person in your family
00:12:20.000 lineage, even though you have proof that
00:12:22.720 everybody before you was a certain way,
00:12:24.880 so you must be that way. I’m telling
00:12:27.839 you,
00:12:29.360 you can reprogram your mind. You can
00:12:32.160 decide to become and act [music] and do
00:12:35.279 whatever way you want. If you understand
00:12:37.600 what I just shared with you, here’s the
00:12:39.839 big idea.
00:12:41.600 Every mind can be reprogrammed. The
00:12:43.920 programming language of the mind are
00:12:45.440 questions. And when we ask ourselves
00:12:47.839 powerful questions, it redirects our
00:12:50.320 focus and we get what we focus on. Your
00:12:54.079 existence, the reality, what you feel is
00:12:58.079 the byproduct of your most dominant
00:13:00.320 thoughts, actions, and feelings. And if
00:13:02.720 we learn how to reprogram our mind
00:13:04.320 through questions to give us the focus
00:13:06.320 to take the actions to rebuild the
00:13:08.000 beliefs so we can take that with us in
00:13:10.560 that new version of us to the next
00:13:12.560 challenge or interaction or opportunity
00:13:16.560 that person will get that desired
00:13:18.639 reality. That’s what I want for you more
00:13:20.480 than anything. So leave a comment below
00:13:22.880 and let me know what did you need to
00:13:25.040 hear most today. What did you resonate
00:13:26.720 with? What did you believe that you
00:13:30.000 thought was fixed that now is different?

00:13:33.680 important part for you today below in
